Not everyone sits down and reads 220 pages

We learned this from the emails. Someone makes a book for their dad, the book arrives, the reaction video is perfect, and then three weeks later they mention he keeps it on the side table and hasn't gotten past chapter four. Not because he doesn't love it. Because he's seventy one, the print is a normal size, and he does most of his living in a truck.

That's the whole reason we built the two things I want to tell you about. The book is still the gift. These are just two more ways to get the story into someone's day, on a drive, on a walk, or at the kitchen table with the family listening in.

The audiobook: the whole thing, read out loud

This one is what it sounds like. Your entire book, every chapter, start to finish, narrated. Not a sample, not the first chapter as a teaser. The whole story, in order, the way an audiobook should be.

It is read by an AI voice, and we say that plainly because you should know what you're buying. It is not a hired actor in a booth. It is a very good synthetic narrator, the kind you have probably already listened to without noticing, and it reads your book cleanly from the first page to the last.

Where it plays

Three ways, and you can use all of them. You can press play right on your order page. You can download the file and keep it forever, no account and no expiry. Or you can add your own private feed to the podcast app you already use, which is the one people end up loving: every chapter shows up as an episode in Apple Podcasts, Overcast, or Pocket Casts, and it picks up where you left off like any other show. Spotify does not accept private feeds, so that one is out, and we would rather tell you now than have you go looking.

The podcast episode: two hosts, talking about your book

This is the one nobody expects, and it is my favorite thing we have shipped. It is not a summary and it is not a reading. It is a real talk show style episode where two hosts sit down and discuss the book you just made, the way a book podcast discusses a bestseller.

They talk about the characters by name. They pick one scene and read it out loud, then argue about what it was doing. They disagree with each other and one of them ends up admitting they were wrong. If your book has a dedication, they read it. And they close by saying the thing that is actually true, which is that this is the only copy of this story that exists.

It runs about twenty five minutes, which is roughly a commute. Two AI voices, same as the audiobook, said plainly. It streams on your order page, downloads as an ordinary MP3, and shows up in the same private feed, so it sits right next to the audiobook in the podcast app you already use.

Send it to the group chat. That is the honest use case. It is very strange and very funny to hear two people take your brother's fake detective novel completely seriously for half an hour.

How to get them

Both are add-ons at checkout, next to the format you pick. The audiobook is $19 and the podcast episode is $9, and you can take one, both, or neither. They are produced alongside the book and are usually ready about an hour after it, and we email you the moment they can be played.

If you are still deciding on the book itself, the format guide is the better place to start, and this one explains how your answers become a story. The audio is the part you add once you know whose book it is.

Start the book, and add the audio at checkout if the person you're making it for is more of a listener than a reader. Most of them are.
