Questions people ask before choosing a gift book
The person, if you know who the book is for. The occasion, if you are looking for something to give on a date and have not decided on whom. Both lead to the same wizard; the pages just help you picture the book first.
The book has one main character. The other person can be a central character in the story, which is how anniversary books usually work: your partner is the lead and you are the one they fall for. For two separate heroes, make two books.
A photo book collects pictures and a card holds a message. This is a 220+ page novel with chapters, a plot and the person as the main character. You can put a photo on the cover and a message on the dedication page, but the gift is the story.
Start the book directly and describe them. The pages here are a starting point, not a limit: the book can be about a colleague, an in-law, a teacher, a neighbor, or the person who taught you your trade. The questions adapt to whoever you describe, and the story is built from your answers either way.
